On May 19, 2017, the LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences) Class of MBA 1996 came together to form the MBA 1996 Endowment Fund to support one student from the NOP (National Outreach Programme) at LUMS. The class managed to raise more than PKR 10 Million in a span of two weeks, which ranks it as the fastest class fundraising drive in the year 2016 and 2017.
This is a formidable feat considering that the MBA Class of 1996 is spread across the globe and organising the funds took place over e-mail. It also says a lot about the tremendous sense of fellowship amongst the classmates. Mr. Majid Munir, the fund representative for the class led the fundraising effort.
The effort was appreciated by the Pro Chancellor, Syed Babar Ali and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi. At the MoU signing ceremony Dr. Shahid Masood, Dean Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering represented LUMS and Mr. Majid Munir represented MBA Class of 1996.
