SDSB Faculty Training on Case Writing

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Excellence in case method teaching and case writing is an integral part of the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB). As part of our commitment towards the growth of SDSB as a case method school, the Case Research Centre has organised a series of case writing workshops for faculty members who have recently joined the School. This intensive and participative workshop teaches participants how to write good cases. Each participant or group writes a small field-based case and preliminary teaching note, working through all the steps of the case writing process.

The first session of the Case Writing Workshop Series was conducted on December 2, 2016 by Dr. Ehsan ul Haque and Dr. Arif I. Rana. Both seasoned case writers, the instructors discussed the importance of the case method at the SDSB, the case writing process and key considerations, how to choose what case to write depending upon the course outline of the instructor, how to choose an organisation/protagonist, and the first field visit.

The next session of this workshop is scheduled for December 16, 2016.
