EE Faculty Presents Papers at IET Renewable Power Generation Conference, London

Friday, October 14, 2016

Dr. Hassan Abbas Khan, Assistant Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) presented two papers at the IET Renewable Power Generation Conference (RPG), held in London, England from September 21 to 23, 2016.

Dr. Khan’s first paper titled ‘Solar photovoltaic integrated building scale hybrid AC/DC microgrid’ co-authored by Mr. Mashood Nasir (PhD Candidate at EE LUMS) discussed a system level design and analysis on a solar photovoltaic (PV) integrated building scale hybrid AC/DC microgrid. This work is a part of Mr. Nasir’s PhD research conducted at LUMS.

The second paper ‘String level optimization on grid-tied solar PV systems for minimizing soft shading power loss’ co-authored by Mr. Ahsan Rana presented a new analytical and simulation framework for improving performance ration under partial shading conditions through modifications in string connections. This work was part of Mr. Rana’s MS thesis research (2015-2016) conducted at LUMS.
