LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) graduate Junaid Shafqat Paracha (BSc 2012) spoke to fellow Luminites at the LUMS Alumni Islamabad & KPK Reunion on September 8, 2016. Here is what he said:
“Everyone has the right to a good education; it's not restricted to the privileged only. I realised this the day I was accepted at LUMS. Sheer hard work, dedication, perseverance and guidance from the LUMS family helped me accomplish my dreams. Joining LUMS was a life changing experience for me as it gave me a whole new perspective of this world. Furthermore, I consider myself fortunate to be ranked amongst the four students who spoke at the UN Leaders Forum in Paris. I also had the honour to represent Pakistan at the Microsoft Imagine Cup. My experience at LUMS gave a boost to my professional career as it enabled me to work with one of the best PR Departments in the world.
LUMS, I owe you big time! You helped me find the love of my life, my wife. Furthermore, I also worked closely with National Outreach Programme and coached nearly 300 students. When I see them doing so well it instigates a feeling of reward and makes me feel that I have given something back to the LUMS community. I urge you to support the LUMS National Outreach Programme; your investment today can define someone’s tomorrow and I am a living example of that!”
