BeautyHooked, founded by a brilliant female entrepreneur Sahr Said, is an online platform to connect women with beauty services and online bookings at beauty salons. It is the first ever start up in Pakistan to secure seed funding of $280,000. The seed financing is supported by Fatima Ventures, a local seed-stage fund supported by Fatima Group.
Since its founding in 2015, BeautyHooked has been gaining tremendous traction, catering to a market based primarily in Lahore for now. The BeautyHooked team comprises of Sahr Said, Founder and CEO of BeautyHooked , Sidra Talha, Head of Operations and Abdullah Ahmed who developed the entire technology of the company.
Sahr and her team won the Start-up Weekend Lahore in first place and were offered incubation at LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship (LCE). Sahr attributes the success of her company to Startup Weekend Lahore and LCE for helping her find a team and giving her idea the push it very much needed to kick-start and take her to the level she is at today.
Sahr while commenting on the funding said, “We had investment offers from multiple investors but we went with Fatima Ventures because their strategic goals are aligned with ours.”
BeautyHooked being the first women-led start-up to raise seed investment, Sahr’s aim is to empower women be the light-bearer for others.
In addition to its plans to expand to other cities of Pakistan, BeautyHooked is also gaining traction internationally where a huge Qatari-corporate business has approached the business with plans for expansion in the Middle East.
