The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) conducted the Dean’s Honour List (DHL) Ceremony on Friday, November 16, 2018. DHL is an annual event that highlights and accredits the sterling academic achievements of students in their previous academic year. Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were Acting Dean, Dr. Kamran Asdar Ali; the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arshad Ahmad; Rector, Mr. Shahid Hussain and our very esteemed Member Board of Trustees and Member of Management Committee, Dr. Parvez Hassan.
The ceremony was held at the Asifa-Irfan Moot Court Room, which is the exact replica of the Lahore High Court, Court Room No. 1.
The guests graced the event with their valuable speeches and congratulated the parents for their unyielding efforts and the students for their brilliant accomplishments. Dr. Ali spoke about the value of delving into the realm of knowledge and aspiring to be ardent learners. He inspired the audience by quoting and sharing some Urdu couplets at the end of his address.
Dr. Ahmad addressed the students and parents with the core values of what LUMS is and what it aspires to be. He shared some very motivating and inspirational stories of SAHSOL students and congratulated the achievers.
Dr. Hassan spoke about the significance of having a vision and mission and why these two should be necessary for our students at this juncture in their lives. He gathered everyone’s interest by sharing anecdotes from his life and experiences as a lawyer.
This was followed by the award distribution ceremony adorned with the cheers and applause of the audience. After the completion of the award distribution, Mr. Hussain addressed the audience and congratulated the proud achievers.
The students, faculty and the gracious guests all posed for a group photograph at the end of the Ceremony, which concluded with a tea arranged by SAHSOL.
