MGHSS and Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja organized a trip to the parliament for the POL 100 students on April 13, 2017. A class was conducted at the parliament by Ms. Shaza so that the students could benefit from a hands on experience of the subject. An orientation session with the National Assembly speaker, Ayaz Sadiq was conducted which was very informative for the students. They also got the opportunity to attend the parliament session on Electricity Shortfall and listened to their speeches. This was followed by a question and answer session where the students got a clearer picture of the topic.
A meeting with Mr. Shehrayar Afridi from PTI and Arif Alvi along with Nifsa Shah from PPP was arranged for the students, where they got the chance to have a question and answer session with each of them as well. It was very interesting for the students to witness the Standee committee on the finance of the parliament and see how a legislation is made.
A tour guide of the entire parliament was also arranged where the students witnessed a first of its kind Solar Green Plant installed inside the parliament. The trip was an enjoyable learning experience for the students which they can incorporate in their theoretical studies.
