Professor Uzair J. Kayani of the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law was invited by the Government of Pakistan Ministry of Human Rights to present a paper on "Development as the Linchpin of Human Rights." The Ministry of Human Rights, in collaboration with the Asia Foundation, hosted Pakistan's first National Conference on Human Rights on December 10 and 11, 2015 in Islamabad. The Ministry was recently separated from the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs to become a free-standing institution. It is the key federal office in charge of implementing of Pakistan's human rights obligations.
