Renowned Urdu poet and drama writer Mr. Amjad Islam Amjad visited LUMS on 21 February 2018 to attend annual book fair at the Gad and Birgit Rausing Library. The fair was held to help nurture and develop the love of reading amongst students and was organised by LUMS Library Manager Dr. Nadeem Siddique.
Mr. Amjad also visited the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) and had a meeting with Dean Dr. Jawad Syed and Associate Dean (External Relations) Dr. Anjum Fayyaz. Dean Syed discussed the need to develop multidisciplinary skills and critical literacy in business students. Mr. Amjad discussed the importance of primary and secondary schools in enabling young people to acquire and develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to lead successful and responsible lives. Dr. Fayyaz introduced the idea of CEO at LUMS to Mr. Amjad and sought his insights to bridge the academia-practice gap.
