Tuesday, April 24, 2018

The SDSB MBA & EMBA 2019 (first year) students held a farewell dinner for the graduating seniors - MBA & EMBA class of 2018. The event took place on the 20th April 2018 Friday on a beautiful Spring evening at Suleman Dawood School of Business. The theme of the event was 'Basant' which is considered a Kite-flying festival of Punjab and is celebrated to mark the Spring Harvest in a year in the Sub-continent. This has been a historic spring time kite flying event during the Basant Panchami festival in the Punjab region in Pakistan.

Apropos of the event theme, the Dean SDSB Dr. Jawad Syed shared his thoughts on Basant and the importance of reviving our cultural traditions. He congratulated the graduating class on completion of two years of MBA and EMBA, and implored them to stay connected with SDSB and LUMS and remain a part of the LUMS family. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Sohail Naqvi addressed the students and reminisced about the farewell and welcome events in the previous years during his tenure at LUMS and wished the graduating class best of luck for a prosperous future.

The night ensued with laughter and pleasantry as the 1st year MBA students took to the stage and shared video parodies of seniors and the faculty; whom they interacted with in the past year. Both the junior and senior year MBA and EMBA students sang hearty songs for the audience, which everyone enjoyed to the fullest. Overall, the event ended in students taking a lot of pictures which will help them remember thier time at LUMS for the years to come.
