LUMS Alumnus, Hassaan Bin Zahid, BSc 2015 from the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), has received admission in the Masters of Finance programme at the Sloan School of Business at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
On describing what helped him achieve this milestone, Zahid said the well-rounded education he received at LUMS played an integral role.
“My experience at LUMS comprised of a balanced approach towards theoretical learning and practical implementation of finance-related concepts,” said Zahid. “Frequent interactions with inspiring instructors such as Adnan Zahid and Fazal Jawad motivated me to improve on a daily basis and follow a career suited to my skillset and interests.”
In order to pursue a career in finance after graduating from LUMS in 2015, Zahid first joined RESO PLC, an affiliate of SIO Capital Management, as an Investment Analyst. He says that this experience helped him grow as an analyst, and strengthened his belief that he would enjoy working in the Asset Management sector in the future.
In addition to acquiring this work experience, Zahid also took the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams and will be sitting for the final level in June 2017.
After attaining this spectrum of academic and professional experiences, Zahid realised that he also wanted to gain exposure to international markets and specialize even further in finance; thus he decided to attain a Master’s degree from one of the many well-established and highly-acclaimed institutes in the world. After completing his degree from MIT, Zahid hopes to continue to apply his knowledge in the Asset Management sector, preferably in a hedge fund.
We, at LUMS, wish Hassaan Bin Zahid all the best for his new journey at MIT!
