A delegation of 26 final-year BA/LLB (Hons.) students of the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law at Lahore University of Management Sciences, accompanied by Mian Zafar Iqbal Kalanauri, Adjunct Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Martin Lau, Dean, called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar as a part of their study tour of the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar welcomed the students and gave them an overview of the Constitution and constitutional mandate of the judiciary as one of the pillars of the state. He laid emphasis on the rule of the law and its importance in economic development of countries. He underlined the need of education and its significance in society, impressing upon the students the importance of integrity and honesty in every walk of life in order to lead a prosperous and peaceful life. Later, he answered the questions of the participants in an interactive session and shared his experiences.
Prof. Dr. Martin Lau thanked the Chief Justice on behalf of all the students and the entire School for having been given the unique opportunity of not only visiting the Supreme Court of Pakistan but of meeting the Chief Justice of Pakistan in person, who shared with them his legal experiences, insights and knowledge.
