The 4-day open enrollment programme on Roadmap to Manufacturing Excellence was conducted by Rausing Executive Development Centre from March 7 - 10, 2017. The programme was directed by Dr. Kamran Ali Chatha, joined in teaching by Dr. Hassan Rauf Chaudhry, Dr. Shakeel Sadiq Jajja and Dr. Jamshed H. Khan. The programme incorporates areas related to manufacturing and operations strategy and its pivotal role in implementing business strategy of a manufacturing firm.
The focus of the programme is on continuous improvement in manufacturing strategy, lean manufacturing, just-in-time manufacturing and six sigma implementation. The programme provides insights on aligning production operations with an organisation’s business strategy as well as identifying clear objectives and specific improvement initiatives that can effectively be pursued to achieve manufacturing KPIs.
The course is designed to meet its objectives of giving a comprehensive understanding on usage of modern industrial concepts and tools to achieve operational excellence. Topics such as process designing, supply chain management for competitiveness and linking manufacturing strategy with other functional areas were also discussed in detail.
