American Business Forum (ABF) reached a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at the Academic Research Department of the University. The MOU was signed between Mr. Rizwan U. Khan, President ABF and Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS. The Dean of Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), administrative members and faculty of LUMS and members from the Executive Committee of ABF were present at the signing ceremony.
ABF is a high level platform for facilitating American Businesses in Pakistan to understand the business challenges in the country. With over 40 US based companies, franchisees, consultants, vendors, auditors and associates, ABF is a significant contributor to the socio-economic growth of Pakistan. To further elevate its service, ABF has partnered with LUMS to corroborate academic research in domains like intellectual property rights, tax and revenue collection policies, best business practices, consumer marketing and foreign investment.
While highlighting the importance of this exemplary partnership with one of the leading educational institutions of Pakistan, Mr. Rizwan U. Speaking at the event, Dr. Naqvi pointed out the many firsts that LUMS introduced in Pakistan including the Case Study Method of teaching, an interdisciplinary approach to engineering and sciences and a 5 year BA-LL.B joint specialization that has become the industry standard. He also stated that due to its credibility in research, world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, LUMS continues to be a catalyst in bringing numerous positive changes to business practices in Pakistan. Discussing the LUMS-ABF partnership, he said, “LUMS has a constantly evolving curriculum, which responds to industry needs, while incorporating their input and feedback.
