LUMS Alumni Office Launches the CSS Alumni Association

The official launch of the LUMS CSS Alumni Association was held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Executive Dining Hall at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Syed Babar Ali, Pro Chancellor and Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS were present at the launch ceremony. President of the CSS Alumni Association, Sheharyar Ahmed (BSc 2010), Assistant Commissioner PAS with his propitious welcome note, added to the glory of the event.

Extraordinary arrangements were made for guests arriving at the Executive Dining Hall, where they were warmly welcomed by the alumni relations team. Syed Babar Ali with his profound knowledge and vision addressed the convention. He appreciated the alumni and encouraged them to achieve greater success in life. He was followed by Dr. Naqvi, who addressed the alumni and said, “There lies a big responsibility on your shoulders; your loyalty and commitment towards your job will surely cultivate matchless results that will take our country one step ahead.”

He urged the CSS alumni to try to change the fate of the country and give back to the society. He shared the success of the National Outreach Progamme (NOP) with the graduates and encouraged them to seek support for this programme possibly through national or international agencies.

The alumni shared their thoughts and the challenging journey leading to their objectives. Furthermore, they added how LUMS has been a guiding source to them, both in their personal and professional lives. They appreciated and shared their thoughts on the great initiative of giving back to LUMS and valued the efforts made by the alumni relations team for putting up such a great event.

A Charter for the official launch of the CSS Alumni Association was also signed on the occasion by Dr. Naqvi and Shehryar Ahmed. The thirty CSS alumni who attended the event, networked and mingled amongst their batch mates over tea and refreshments. Later, everyone gathered and cut a cake as it was Shehryar Ahmed’s birthday that day as well. The evening ended with the alumni looking forward to the next reunion.
