LUMS Alumni Canada Chapter Get Together

On July 23, 2016 LUMS MBA 1998 alumnus, Azim Rizvee’s company, MinMaxx Realty Inc. sponsored an alumni reunion celebrating LUMS and promoting the National Outreach Programme (NOP). The reunion, attended by friends, clients and community was organised at the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

Close to two hundred alumni, friends and family gathered at Canada’s original safari adventure to enjoy a fun-filled day of animal discovery.  Special guests included Osman Waheed, LUMS Management Committee Member and CEO of Ferozesons Pharmaceuticals; Bryan May, Cambridge MP; Dr. Jamshed Hassan Khan, LUMS faculty and Masooma Zeeshan, Senior Manager Alumni Affairs. Osman Waheed represented Syed Babar Ali, Pro-Chancellor LUMS and presented Azim Rizvee with a signed copy of his book while thanking him for his valiant efforts in organising the event.  He also extended a personal invitation to Bryan May to visit LUMS.  Bryan May expressed his sincere gratitude to MinMaxx for sponsoring this event for the community and organising the activities for the children and their families.

Everyone was treated to an elephant encounter and three exotic bird presentations.  The event also included a guided bus tour where guests were up close and personal with over 100 different wildlife species.  The excitement continued with more great views of the animals on the boat and train tours.  Following the activities the guests were treated to a catered BBQ lunch in an exclusive picnic area. Everyone enjoyed themselves and suggested the need for more reunions.

Azim Rizvee, CEO and Founder of MinMaxx Realty Inc. which has achieved over $1 Billion in real estate sales by selling over 2000 units over the last eight years. MinMaxx has also been ranked the #1 Team for 5 years consecutively out of 40,000 realtors and teams across the Greater Toronto Area in the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB). In addition, Mr. Rizvee was also honoured to be the Federal Liberal MP Candidate for the Milton riding in the 2015 Canadian election. He was selected as the Ambassador of LUMS in Canada for a one year term. As the Ambassador of LUMS, Mr. Rizvee will continue to share his passion for the University and help to attract top students to LUMS.  In addition, Mr. Rizvee will be partnering with the University to further support Placement, Mentorship and the Giveback Initiative.  Mr. Rizvee also offered to partner with LUMS by supporting the NOP.  Under the proposed partnership MinMaxx will donate 10% of earnings from any business with anyone from LUMS or referrals from LUMS to the NOP.
