Her Excellency Ms. Martine Dorance, Ambassador of France to Pakistan, along with her Cooperation Attaché Mr. Olivier Huynh - Van, visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on April 11, 2017. Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor LUMS, representatives from the Office of Marketing and Communications and respected faculty members of Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) welcomed the Ambassador.
Ms. Minhal Sheikh, Assistant Manager Marketing, briefed Ms. Dorance about LUMS, its four schools and the programmes it offers. The presentation was followed by a general discussion on promoting awareness of Pakistan's educational system and future academic collaborations that could be explored at an institutional level among Pakistani and French universities.
Ms. Dorance was enthusiastic towards promoting student and faculty exchange programmes between the two countries.
A tour of the campus then took place, which included a visit to the Trading Lab and the LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship, SDSB.
Her Excellency Ms. Martine Dorance stated, "The two countries have forged a strong and long lasting agenda of cooperation in academic and scientific fields. There should be more focus towards promoting the student exchange and industrial engagement programmes between both countries. Student exchange, faculty exchange and collaborating research on issues of mutual benefit are important areas that can be pursued between LUMS and prominent French universities.”
