Class of 2017 Holds First Alumni Reunion at Bowling Alley

Monday, September 25, 2017

The alumni from the Class of 2017 took a trip down memory lane at their first alumni reunion held at Uptown LA Bowling Alley on Saturday, September 23, 2017. They reminisced about their time together at LUMS and shared the new experiences of their post-graduation life with their peers.

Despite the short time since convocation this year, a sizable number of students from the class of 2017 attended the event. It was a short but fun-filled event where the alumni took pictures and played the frisky sport - bowling. Those who scored strikes were rewarded with souvenirs in an entertaining ceremony.

The post-game activity began with the announcement of the souvenir distribution ceremony, after which the award ceremony and the batch 2017 representative elections were conducted. It was heartening to see alumni volunteer themselves to represent their batch and perform their duties.

They were contested in a convivial manner and Abdullah Mashhood Ahmad, BSc-MGHSS, Hafiyya Fayyaz, BS - Electrical Engineering, and Ahtsham Manzoor, MS Computer Science, were elected as the representatives for their programmes, respectively. Congratulations and applause were for those who had won the election to represent their batch.

A pizza party, during which the alumni caught up with each other’s lives, followed the activities.

Is it even possible to have Luminites unite at one place and not take a group photo? A funny photo session including group photos took place, and the alumni had a great time striking humorous poses.

Saying farewell was difficult for everyone, but the LUMS channel is always there to organise more meet ups.
