On Friday, 5th of November, CCLS team headed by the Director, Professor Sikander Shah, visited Islamabad to engage with friends at the other China Centres in the country.
During the visit, Team CCLS met with Ambassador Hasan Javed (R), Director China Study Centre at NUST, and explored various avenues of partnership for the two centres. Ambassador Javed shared interesting insights of the Chinese culture and business, and extended his utmost support and guidance to assist CCLS in achieving greater feats in its future endeavors.
Team CCLS also met with Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director China Study Centre at COMSATS, and identified the various collaborative arrangements the two centres may enter for multifaceted outcomes pertaining to research and education on China, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the greater Belt and Road Initiative. The two centres also discussed plans for the future, specifically collaborative efforts to organise trainings, symposiums and conferences.
Post pandemic, the visit served as a good re-engagement node with partners in Islamabad, and in creating a sense of mutual advancement in research and teaching of Chinese legal studies.
