LUMS Community Service Society arranged an activity filled week from March 27-31 dedicated to cancer awareness across the community that encompassed not only a talk by Chughtai Lab representatives but also an array of fund-raising activities by the students. The Community Service Society was over-whelmed to have Jockey as their official partner for the event. For collecting funds, stalls were set up at the campus. Fifty percent of the total earnings from the sales at these stalls went into funds that were ultimately sent to Children’s Hospital for the treatment of cancer patients. These stalls included, Atif Chatkhara, A Piece of Cake, Hakuna Matata, Waffles and homemade biryani and pasta stalls. A gaming zone was also set up that offered games such as PlayStation 4, Beer Pong, Balloon Darts and Sponge Throw among many others. In addition to these activities, a screening of ‘Zindagi na milay gee dobara’ a much appreciated movie, was also arranged. Furthermore, a toy drive was also organised for child patients.
