LUMS gave the Class of 2007 many things – a great education, amazing opportunities for personal and professional development, conscience, and respect. Most critically, though, LUMS gave the Class of 2007 lifelong friendships.
As a way to give back to its alma mater and to the larger community, and to honour two of its shining stars, the Class of 2007 dedicates this Scholarship to the memory of Muhammad Salman Sohail and Hashir Munawwar.
Salman and Hashir began their journey at LUMS together with the rest of the class, but tragically, life was not long enough for them. Yet, in the limited time that the classmates spent together, these two created lasting memories. They are missed and remembered every day by the many who loved them, and had the joy of spending time with them. This scholarship is dedicated to the laughter, the camaraderie and the happiness they brought into the lives of the classmates. It is dedicated to the many tears that were shed when they departed.
Many of the students of Class of 2007 were able to attain an education at LUMS through the generosity of others, including past alumni. The Salman-Hashir Scholarship is a way of continuing that tradition and creating for other younger students the opportunities that life did not afford for Salman and Hashir – for they would have wanted it no other way. May their memory live long and their names continue to benefit future generations.
