LUMS consistently strives to make its educational programmes accessible to talented students from all geographies and backgrounds, regardless of their ability to pay. It is proud to be the only institute in Pakistan offering the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) through which students can benefit from the its highly experiential MBA programme.
Under this scholarship scheme, the University in collaboration with ADB-JSP provides ADB’s developing members in Asia and the Pacific to pursue postgraduate studies in management at the Suleman Dawood School of Business. To attain the scholarship, the applicant is required to simultaneously apply to the MBA programme, ADB-JSP and financial support at LUMS.
Upon completion of their study programmes, scholars are expected to return to their country and contribute to their economic and social development.
What is Offered?
The Scholarship will cover the following:
• Full Tuition Fee
• Cost of medical & accidental insurance obtained through LUMS
• Monthly subsistence allowance for 01 person
• Book Allowance
• Air fare for 01 person covering the journey from the scholar’s place of residence to LUMS and the return journey at the end of the study programme
Who is Eligible?
• Citizen of an ADB borrowing member and Japanese Official Development Assistance scholarship eligible country
• Gained admission to the MBA programme at LUMS
• A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record
• At least 2 years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application
• Not more than 35 years old at the time of application
• In good health
• Should agree to return to his or her home country after completion of studies under the programme
• Executive directors, alternate directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and close relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the scholarship
• Staff of ADB–JSP partner institutions are not eligible for the scholarship
• Applicants living or working in a country other than his or her home country are not eligible for scholarships
• ADB–JSP does not support applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programmes
ADB-JSP enrols about 300 students annually in academic institutions located in 10 countries within the Asia Region. The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan. It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region.
